Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Jessica Long and I am a professional swimmer.
I grew up in Baltimore Maryland, but I was born in Siberia. I was adopted from a Russian orphanage when I was 13 months old. The lower part of my legs were amputated when I was 18 months old because I was born without fibulas, ankles, heels and most of the other bones in my feet. I learned to walk with prostheses and was involved in many sports including gymnastics, basketball, cheerleading, ice skating, biking, running, and rock climbing. I also loved swimming! I learned how to swim in my grandparents' pool where I would spend hours pretending I was a mermaid.
