Hi, I’m Jessica Long.

On May 10, 2008, Jessica received the Juan Antonio Samaranch Award.


On March 26, 2008, Jessica's appendix ruptured. She was rushed to the hospital for an emergency appendectomy and spent four days in the hospital.


On October 1, 2007, USA Swimming named Jessica as Disability Swimmer of the Year (Trischa L. Zorn Award).


On July 11, 2007, Jessica was honored to receive ESPN's ESPY Award for Best Female Athlete with a Disability. Read Long adds an ESPY to trophy case.


On March 11, 2007, Jessica was presented with the 77th AAU James E. Sullivan Award for the nations top amateur athlete. Read Sullivan Voters Know a Star When They See One.


On January 11, 2007, Jessica was selected as U.S. Olympic Committee's 2006 Paralympian of the Year.


On December 11, 2006, Jessica was named Swimming World Magazine's Female Disabled Swimmer of the Year.


In early December 2006, Jessica won 9 gold medals and set 5 world records at the World Swimming Championships in South Africa. See her races at: Paralympicsport.tv


On September 15, 2006, USA Swimming named Jessica as Disability Swimmer of the Year (Trischa L. Zorn Award).


On July 29, 2006, Jessica competed in the O&P Extremity Games held in Orlando, Florida. She finished 2nd in the rock climbing competition. Watch the video highlights, but don't blink or you'll miss Jessica.


On June 11, 2006, Jessica swam in the 1 Mile Chesapeake Challenge which was held in Maryland's Chesapeake Bay near the Bay Bridge. There were 317 starters with 310 finishers. Jessica finished 9th overall and was the 3rd overall woman with a time of 26:17. She was also the first 14 & under participant to cross the finish line.
